April 13, 2018 the city of Nowy Targ (Poland) will host an international conference "Partnership dialogue on issues of preservation historical and cultural heritage". On April 14, a solemn opening ceremony (after restoration) of the cemetery to Soviet soldiers in the town of Proszowice will take place.

The conference will be organized by the Polish University "Kujawska Szkoła Wyższa" (branch in Nowy Targ (Poland), Commonwealth "Kursk" (Poland) and "International Union "Successors of Victory "(Russia).

On April 14, the solemn opening ceremony of the cemetery in Proszowice, where 641 Soviet soldiers rest, will be held. The event is organized by the Commonwealth "Kursk". The event will be held with the support and personal participation of the Embassy of Russian Federation in Poland, the Russian Military Historical Society, the International Charity Fund "Kronstadt Marine Council for St. Nicholas the Wonderworker", the working group of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the preservation and maintenance of monuments to Soviet soldiers, the Alexander Povetkin Charity Interregional Public Fund "Revival" for the Promotion of Sports and Education of Youth.

Recall that in the Russian Military Historical Society (RMHS) a meeting was held with leaders and activists of the Polish Commonwealth "Kursk", as part of their visit to Moscow in February 2018. During the meeting, the RMHS discussed possible options for cooperation between the countries in the issues of preserving the military-memorial heritage. The parties agreed that the points of contact between the two countries should be sought in the common history.

"We must protect the memory of Soviet soldiers who turned fascism out of Poland." We must not give up! After all, the battle is for our memory, our life and the future of our children. In the Red Army, too, there were many Poles, and now we must protect them, " Jerzy Tyc stressed at the meeting. - There is a plan to make a catalog in which will be indicated all the monuments, memorial plaques, and equipment that were installed in honor of the Soviet soldiers.

The Polish Commonwealth "Kursk" has been engaged in the preservation and restoration of Soviet military gravesites and monuments in Poland since 2012. Dozens of restored monuments and military burial places can be attributed to the intensive efforts made by the volunteers of the organization. The activists plan to prepare a catalogue of places where the memory of the Soviet Soldiers - liberators of Poland - is immortalized.
