Representatives of almost 20 countries took part in a solemn reception at the Russian Embassy in the United States on the Victory Day. The event was attended by the heads of the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, China, Nicaragua, Peru, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In addition, representatives of the embassies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Honduras, Italy, Cyprus and Tajikistan visited the holiday. The guests were offered dishes of field kitchen, as well as national dishes of the winner countries.
The celebration was attended by the historical re-enactors of the 193rd RKKA Infantry Division from New York.
The ceremony ended with the screening of the film "Tanks" directed by Kim Druzhinin, provided by the Russian Military Historical Society to the Russian Embassy in the United States.
The adventure film "Tanks" is based on real events and tells about the engineer Mikhail Koshkin who, on the eve of war with Nazi Germany, develops a prototype of the new innovative T-34 tank. The author of the film creating idea is the Chairman of the RMHS Vladimir Medinsky. The script was written by Advisor to the Chairman of the RMHS Andrey Nazarov.
In a wide rental picture came out on April 26. Premieres also took place outside of Russia - in Syria and Belarus. For the English-speaking audience, the producers of the film changed its name to "Tanks for Stalin".
