The scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society Mikhail Myagkov called blasphemy of the statements, made in the British Parliament comparing the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation with the Olympic Games of 1936 in Nazi Germany.
- Britain has done a lot to ensure that sprouts of Nazism and militarism in Germany blossomed in violent color. In Britain there were fascism roots, too. In the 1930s, there was the British Union of Fascists, which was banned only under Churchill. In 1938, the British soccer national team which played with the team of Germany at the Olympic stadium in Berlin, raised a hand in a Nazi greeting. We will also recall the Munich agreement of 1938 when the coordinated dictatorship of France, England, Germany and Italy ordered that Czechoslovakia actually "give" to Germany a significant part of its territory. According to many historians, this Munich agreement led to the beginning of World War II. The Great Britain took the lead in "appeasement" of Hitler and the direction of Nazi aggression against the USSR.
I presume, that the statement supported by Boris Johnson, is essentially a political blasphemy which he has shown in relation to our state. The fact is that we are all heirs of a great country and a great generation. We have the continuity of generations. And it was our country that crushed Nazism. Our soldiers released Nazi concentration camps where millions of people have been destroyed. And how it is possible to carry out such comparisons after that?
Today we have to say clearly that Nazism and militarism exist in our time. It was the western civilization that gave birth to such a phenomenon as Nazism. It is the collective west that is currently pursuing an aggressive policy. Perhaps today, Boris Johnson and other Western leaders are ashamed because Russia even then advocated for peace, defended the world civilization. And today Russia is the main guarantor of the world security. It is our country that consistently stands for peace in the world. We prevent many world conflicts. Today, the West is pursuing an aggressive policy. There is an information war against us: they want to shift their blame for what is happening in the world to another state - against us. And to our President, who advocates that there were less conflicts and aggression in the world, so that world security was respected. Hence such statements. Boris Johnson should apologize to Russia! - said Mikhail Myagkov.
