In the memory of the last Russian Emperor

On the day of the 100th anniversary of the tragic death of Nicholas II family, the International Memorial Action was organized by the Russian Military Historical Society (RMHS). Flowers laying ceremonies and actions of memory were held in 12 regions of Russia and 3 foreign countries.

In the city of Banja Luka (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina), the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Nicholas II was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republika Srpska. Prayer for commemoration was made by the priest Miladin Mitrovic.

In the village of Riteshic (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina), the ceremony of laying flowers was organized by local activists, led by Zoran Gaiic. The ceremony was attended by Vasyl Dulnev, the second secretary of the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Serbia, a solemn ceremony took place at the monument to Nicholas II near the Russian Center for Science and Culture.

In the city of Taormina (Italy, Sicily), the honorary consul of the Russian Federation in Sicily, Nanni Richevuto, took part in the mourning ceremony. He laid flowers at the monument to Nicholas II.

In St. Petersburg in the territory of the Resurrection Church of Christ on the Obvodny Canal, was held a prayer, after which representatives of the regional branch of the RMHS laid a basket with one hundred symbolic carnations to the monument of the Imperial couple.

- “Emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich was the founder and honorary Chairman of the Imperial Russian Military Historical Society. We are trying to continue the traditions of the founders of this society, founded more than a hundred years ago, to preserve the memory of glorious historical events, military exploits, both individual heroes and the entire people,” said Vladimir Kazakov, deputy head of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad branch of the Russian Association of RMHS.

In the city of Sochi, the Krasnodar regional branch of the RMHS was organized a mourning ceremony at the bust-monument to Emperor Nicholas II, located on the territory of the Cathedral of the Holy Archangel Michael. The deputy head of the city of Sochi, the chairman of the Sochi local branch of the RMHS - I.V. Romanets, the chairman of the Sochi city branch of the Combat Brotherhood, I.S. Palevsky, representatives of public and veteran organizations, students of educational organizations, Father John, Father Superior of the Church, clergy and parishioners. Irina Romanets appealed to those present on behalf of the Russian Military Historical Society with a call to remember and honor history. The mourning event ended with a minute of silence and laying flowers and a wreath at the monument to Emperor Nicholas II.

In Yekaterinburg, flowers were laid to the monument to the Royal Family near the Temple-on-the-Blood, and to the bust-monument of Nicholas II in the monastery of the Holy Royal Passion-bearers near Ganina Yama. – “For the representatives of the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of RMHS it is not just a memorable event. Among the members of the RMHS regional branch there are a lot of experts and researchers who have been studying the history of the Tsar's family in the Urals for many years and studying the circumstances of her death. More than 20 years, Ural historians took part in expeditions to find the remains of the royal family. In recent years, members of the RMHS regional branch are actively involved in the search for the burial of brother Nikolai II, Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich. This year, within the framework of the "Royal Days" events, the members of the RMHS regional branch will take part in the scientific and practical conference "Romanov Readings", said the coordinator of the action, Alexander Emelyanov.

In the Republic of Crimea in the Livadia Palace Museum a mourning ceremony took place. The event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, was attended by the administration of the Livadia Palace Museum, members of the Crimean and Sevastopol regional branches of the RMHS, representatives of the State Museum of Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol. They laid flowers to the monument of Emperor Nicholas II. After that, a thematic tour of the halls of the Livadia Palace and the display of the historical drama "The Defense of Sevastopol" was held.

A tragic date was also commemorated in the scientific community. Representatives of a number of regions of Russia visited a round table dedicated to the activities of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. At the event, organized by the Moscow branch of the RMHS, well-known historians Y.N. Zhukov, O.R. Airapetov, A.I. Kolpakidi, V.V. Korneyev. The philosopher A.P. Segal and the historian B.L. Sokolov has taken the floor. The moderator of the event was the head of the scientific and educational section of the Moscow branch of the RMHS S.I. Perelygin.

Marches of Memory were also held in Kaluga, Chelyabinsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
