Exhibition  "WAR AND MYTHS" was opened in Slovenia

Today in the cultural center of Nova Gorica (Republic of Slovenia) the official opening of the exhibition organized by the Russian Military Historical Society "War and Myths" took place.

At the opening ceremony in "Eda Center" were present: Mayor of Nova Gorica Matej Arcon; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Slovenia Doku Zavgaev, Authorized representative of the Russian Military Historical Society in Central Europe Alexander Mikhnovsky; the Chairman of the Union of Veterans of Slovenia and the Coordination Council of Patriotic and Veteran Organizations, Major-General Ladislav Lipic.

The exhibition of the Russian Military Historical Society "War and Myths" is devoted to exposing the falsifiers of history. Previously, it was represented in Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Voronezh, Smolensk, Sochi, Tambov, Tula. The visitor can independently study all the myths about the Great Patriotic War accumulated over the past 30 years and draw their own conclusions. There are many unique video and photo materials, declassified documents and unknown military artifacts. And the guidebook is the famous book by Vladimir Medinsky "War."

- "On behalf of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, Vladimir Medinsky, I sincerely welcome and congratulate you on the opening of the unique multimedia exhibition "War and Myths". This exhibition was held with great success in many cities of Russia, where its exposition was visited by more than 1 million people and now it became possible to acquaint the audience of European countries with the territories that were liberated by Soviet soldiers in 1944-1945.

The exhibition demonstration in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union is caused by the huge interest existing in broad public and cultural circles to the activities of its author. The next destination of the exhibition will be the Czech Republic.

At the final stage of the Second World War, the Slovenian people had to rebel against the occupants with weapons in their hands. But the success of this struggle was predetermined by the defeat of the main forces of the fascists on the Soviet-German front. Therefore, at present, the victorious nations need to rally together to defend the historical truth and honor of our common Victory," said Alexander Mikhnovsky at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition "War and Myths" in Nova Gorica will last until September 10, 2018.
