July 29 at 13.00 in Borodino will take place tournament "Live Chess". A unique spectacle is organized by the Museum-Reserve "Borodino Field" in conjunction with the Russian Military Historical Society with the support of the International Military Historical Association and the Chess Federation of Russia.

"Live Chess" will be one of the central events in the program of summer festival activities of the Borodino Museum. The festive events will take place from 10.00 to 17.00. The beginning of the tournament is at 13.00.

Before the tournament it is planned "Borodino blitz 2018" organized by the chess school "Olympus", in which chess players from Moscow and the Moscow region will take part.

For the time of the main party, near the visit-center of the Borodino Museum, a giant chessboard will be created, the figures on which will be replaced by professional reenactors. The game will be led by famous chess players.

For the Russian side, there will be a multiple world champion, honorary member of the Russian Military Historical Society, State Duma deputy Anatoly Karpov. The opponent will be the master of sports of international class in chess Mikhail Strovsky. They will play the "Unfading" (Evergreen) game, played in 1852 by Adolf Andersen and Jean Dufren. The tournament is planned to be visited by: Honored Master of Sports of Russia, member of the Public Chamber of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Karyakin and honorary senator, head of the French Musketeers Society, Duke Emery de Montesquieu d'Artagnan.

The game of grandmasters will be accompanied by a show and the performance of a brass band that will perform military marches of different countries. Each course of rivals, made on the board, will be duplicated by the reenactors in the historical costumes of the Russian and French armies of the Patriotic War of 1812.

In addition to the chess game, guests will be able to visit interactive venues and get acquainted with the military life of the Napoleonic wars.
